Alright folks, check this out! It is small yet packs a punch! I am talking about the Star Wars LEGO Snowspeeder 75049.

Wow, LEGO sure is getting better and better for every new ship they have arrive.

Building the snowspeeder.

This one looks more like the original Snowspeeder in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

It has tons of playablility on this snowspeeder as well.

When I say this snowspeeder has tons of playablility, I am not kidding.

Everything from cockpits that open to a grappling hook on the back that is functional.

This speeder has it all.

Makes you just want to run out and get yourself one, right? Well I did and am so happy I did.

You see, the snowspeeder is one of those sets that I wish I had the collectors series of, no kidding.

I am not sure if you have heard or even had seen the collectors version of this set but I am here to tell you…

They got it spot on! But I did not come here to review that one. Instead I got this one… The Star Wars LEGO Snowspeeder set 75049.

I did mention a ton of playability and here is what it has:

  • A dual opening cockpit
  • Rear stud blaster
  • A grappling hook with cable on a winch
  • 2 spring loaded missles
  • Airbrake panels that open
  • Detailed stickers of the engines
  • A tri-pod gun
  • 3 Minifigs

Minifigs

There are three minifigs that come with this set. Luke Skywalker, Dak Ratler and a Snow Trooper.

The tri-pod gun is for the snow trooper Which is very real looking!

The minifigs included are:

Luke Skywalker | Snowspeeder Pilot

Luke Skywalker snowspeeder pilot

This minifig has only appeared in this set alone and some of his features are:

  • Printed leg patterns
  • Cheek lines on his face
  • Yellow visor
  • Printed chestplate

Dack Ratler | Snowspeeder Pilot

Star Wars LEGO Dack ratler 75049

It’s funny, the older DR’s were named Dak and this new one is named Dack yet he is the same Dak though out the movies…

This minifig has only appeared in this set alone as well and some of his features are:

  • White helmet with the Rebel Alliance stickers on it
  • Yellow visor
  • Printed pockets on his pants
  • A printed chestplate

Snowtrooper | Subarctic Stormtrooper

Star Wars LEGO Snowtrooper 75049

This Snowtrooper has been in two sets so far. One is this one and the other was Star Wars LEGO Hoth Echo Base 7879.

There have been other variants to this snowtrooper that came out in other sets as well.

Some of this snowtrooper’s features are:

  • A Heater Pack on his back
  • White cloth around his/her hips
  • Printed chestplate.

Like most of my posts here on Vaders New Empire, I try to give all the info about the set as I can. Some of these minifigs have changed over the years and keeping up with all of them is difficult.

This is why everything here on Vaders New Empire is only of sets and minifigs that I have in my collection.

I always upgrade when I can and when new sets arrive on my doorstep, I will be sharing them here.

I have pictures of this set but I have yet to shoot a real time LEGO build for the star Wars LEGO Snowspeeder 75049 but that is in the works 😉

Wow, that is a ton of pictures eh?

It is not that large of a set, I just like taking step by step photos of what I am doing just like I do in my real time LEGO builds.

The set only measures out to be about:

  1. A little over 1″ tall
  2. 7″ long
  3. 5″ wide

It also only weighs 0.86lbs

So yes, it is small but look at everything it has and does. they packed a bunch into this set.

The other really cool thing I like is that BOTH minifigs sit inside of this set perfectly so you can recreate the Hoth Battle scene with ease, just add snow. :-)

The cost is good for what it is $29.99

Includes 278 pieces and is for ages 7-12

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and check out my review for the Star Wars LEGO Snowspeeder 75049 and as always…
