Star Wars LEGO Jedi Starfighter With Hyperdrive Booster Ring 7661
The Star Wars LEGO Jedi Starfighter With Hyperdrive Booster Ring 7661 was one of those sets that looks like the real deal.
This set emerged in 2007 with two minifigs. This Jedi Starfighter, I fell in love with it the moment I had seen it on the “big screen”.
I had already started collecting Star Wars LEGO way before Revenge of the Sith appeared in movies and had to get my hands on this as soon as they made it.
Really was excited when it started hitting the shelves and is one LEGO I absolutely love. I have built this LEGO so many times I think the parts are getting a little loose.
While creating new reviews here on vadersnewempire.com I get to go and put them together a few more times as well, which is a wonderful thing.
The Hyperdrive Booster Ring around the starfighter is quite large for this model but the scale is spot on. It is a bit shaky if bumped and will most likely fall backwards if nudged to hard or the display table gets rocked.
When all put together it stands upright on only two 6X1 flat LEGO pieces that are attached to the ring on the underside. It was good thinking of making the ring appear like it was standing with no aide, if that is what LEGO was going for.
The majority of this LEGO color is mostly blue and white and the detail is excellent! From the 4 fold out wings on the end of the starfighter, the nice cockpit window and the details inside of this is darn close to the one in Revenge of the Sith.
- Obi-Wan Kenobi|Jedi Master
- Kit Fisto|Jedi General
If you look at Obi-Wan closely, he has his gold headset on his face as in the movie and is the last version of this character in the LEGO Star Wars sets.
There were 3 different variations of this minifig other than this last one. This one, Obi-Wan has tan legs instead of the burnt orange look that the earlier ones had.
Kit Fisto appeared in two LEGO Star Wars sets, this was the first. The other set was the ARC Starfighter 8088 which I will be reviewing in my next post.
Star Wars LEGO Jedi Starfighter With Hyperdrive Booster Ring 7661 Pictures
It took quite a few steps to complete this LEGO model and I even tried to shot a video for it. The video I decided to do for this LEGO set was not thought of too well as I was going for a “real time” video.
I have seen so many video’s where people had used a fast motion type of video to show the entire build. I do not have that capability, yet.
So, I thought I would give it a try, right in front of the camera with no special software, no special camera and that is where most of my “fail” had happened.
My video camera’s memory had maxed out after 11 minutes and I was already into at least 30 minutes of the build before I had noticed the camera was off.
Pictures are still just as good if not better as they may show better detail. I will give it another try but this time…I will be better prepared and ready with a camera that has sufficient memory as well as battery life.
Until I can get myself into a time where I am not staying up super late filming and better organized, I will try it once again, never quit on your dreams, right?
I hope that this review has shown that the Star Wars LEGO Jedi Starfighter With Hyperdrive Booster Ring 7661 is one of those LEGO products that really stands out and “pops” in your collection as it has mine.
